I create music that tells stories, and bridges musical genres. Primarily I work in indy/alternative, jazz, and American folk music. I spent the past year living in La Paz, Bolivia where I studied Andean music on the charango and quena. Currently at Berklee Valencia I am focusing on incorporating analog synthesis, gourmet sampling, and live electronic elements into my songwriting process.

Songs

June

June is love story told in three folk styles. It features guitar fingerpicking, the nyckelharpa and the Charango, an Andean stringed instrument. This is my first song bridging Appalachian and Andean sounds and instrumentation. It was produced by gold record song-writer Harlan Collins.

Rainy Sunday Afternoon

Rainy Sunday Afternoon is an original jazz standard. This recording features singer, Ellie Hartye with solos by Jake D'Ambrosio on piano, and myself and Nick Sengstaken on saxophones. I am currently re-making an electronic version of this song. Keep an eye out for its release!

Weakness

Weakness is an exploration of musical space and experiment with texture through creative recording and mixing. My inspirations for this track were Blake Mill’s and Sean Everett’s work on Sound and Color as well as Tchad Blake’s approach to mixing drums. This track features Nathan Mason on the vibes, Seamus Holland on the drums, Alex Polydoroff on bass, and myself on vocals.
